Hurricane of Bullshit

What’s up people? As always it’s been a minute. I hope this post finds you in good health.

You know where I’m going today. I try not to be political. Actually, I wouldn’t consider it political..more like a candid observation. Unless you are fortunate and have amnesia or a tumor, you know all about Donald Trump. If you’re a fan, you should probably stop here and get a taco instead. I am not. Never have been. I am from NY. We know him well. If you don’t know anything about his background there, just google the Central Park 5. I have been in a state of total disbelief and angst since the election. Now before you mentally label me, just know that I don’t subscribe to any political party. Political parties suck. I don’t wear labels. I prefer to base my opinions on facts and my own interpretation of them. If you disagree with me, that’s cool. You’re entitled to your wrong opinion. LOL. Seriously though, people immediately get defensive if you identify with a political party they don’t like. Shit’s gotten to the point of religious fervor. People are so brainwashed by propaganda that they can’t think straight anymore. I feel like I’m in some kind of science fiction movie. Regardless of platform, I can’t believe people voted for that clown. My shoe has more sense than he does. Dude is literally the equivalent of a crooked used car salesman with access to the nuclear codes. Scary shit if you ask me. This guy has given motivation to some very fucked up people in our society. Those Nazi bastards are feeling pretty empowered as of late. They’ll still get their asses kicked but nonetheless you don’t want to encourage their brand of hate. I don’t get how you can hate someone you’ve never met that has done nothing to you and treat them fucked up simply because they were birthed on a different spot on this ball of mud or have a different shade of skin. We all know that’s really just low self-esteem showing its ugly head. You can’t give these people any light. They need to stay in the dark..silenced. Stupid only breeds stupid. We’ve been through this before. The end result will be the same.

Seeing some of the stories out of Houston remind me of how much we take for granted. When you go through your day to day rituals of life, the last thing you think of is what to do if it all came crashing down. I’m sure that so many people have been traumatized by this disaster and are lost as to what to do next. It annoys me to see the politicians looking to score points on the misery of others instead of helping their situation. I’m seeing reports that some are proposing tying disaster aid to Texas to the debt ceiling legislation. It boggles the mind that one could be so callous and indifferent to those poor people who have already suffered enough.
To add insult to insult, you have Joel Osteen, vulture of the religious, not offering people a place to take shelter in that big ass money trap called a church. After the outrage started making headlines, he gets on TV with that shit eating grin and plays victim. The slick bastard appeared in front of a green screen to make it look like he was on site. What gets me is that even though he’s been exposed, after this dies down people will be flocking to him emptying out their life savings. Not to go on another rant but religion is bullshit. Why would a deity that created the entire universe with a thought need you to donate money? What the fuck does a god need money for? The church fosters guilt in its followers just so that it can take advantage of their need for absolution. It is nothing more than manipulation, just like politics.

As we here in the US focus on the disaster in Houston, there are so many other people around the world that are suffering from floods. The effects of climate change are becoming more and more devastating. Big oil is going to make sure that people are mislead and kept in the dark as to their role in the massive loss of life across this planet.

It will only be a matter of time before the lie has nowhere to hide..

I don’t have any musical offerings today but I have a couple of short videos I put together that I posted on my Instagram feed (@THP_PIX) and hosted on Vimeo

This is a tribute to my dear friend Lira aka Lola the Showgirl. She recently decided to drop from Twitter and IG. Whatever reasons, she is missed and I hope her journey is fruitful:

Glitching and itching

It’s 4 AM. I should be asleep but I had to get up and pee. I’m on this “diet” for lack of a better word, where I’m taking Garcinia Cambrogia. It seems to be doing something or maybe it’s just my mind wanting it to work so badly. It makes me pee quite a bit. So now I’m back in bed and I figured I’d write a quick blog. Of course, the WordPress app is glitching on me. So instead of it being a quick post, it turns into me fighting with my phone. I selected the post a photo option and hit the icon, and nothing happened. So I’m repeatedly stabbing at this icon wondering why nothings happening. It’s amazing that even in this form of technology, we find ourselves still banging on it in hopes that it will make it work. It’s as if the sheer force of my finger will correct the problem with the app. Anyway, as you can see, I got to work eventually.
I’ve bought several new bracelets that I like. I like them so much that I fell asleep with them on. I have one that is made of links. The links are angular and have pointy corners. I sleep with my arms under my head so the pressure of my head is constantly pressing into this bracelet causing it to dig in my skin. It’s as if my wrist has a mini crown of thorns, so in that sense I kind of understand what Jesus allegedly went through. I know, it’s a stretch, but that’s as far as I will go to participate in the holiday atmosphere. As you may know, I’m an atheist, but I do recognize people’s need to believe in something greater than themselves. I can respect that. I am however I’m amused at the whole resurrection story. Here’s my take on what I think actually happened. I think there was a person by the name of Jesus that went around spreading his beliefs and teachings. People were so taken by this guy that they started making stuff up. One minute he’s walking on water, the next minute he’s feeding 5000 people with a happy meal. The Romans, hearing about all of these things and fearing that he was becoming more influential than their leader, decided to take this dude down a notch. This is, to this day, a typical response whenever you become famous. People will bring you down. In any case, we know how that turned out. They brought him before the ruler, and asked him to show them his bag of tricks. That didn’t work out so well, so they decided to make an example of this guy by publicly crucifying him. Once he was buried, some of his followers fearing that the movement was in jeopardy, decided to steal his body and start rumors that he had come back to life. I mean, think about it. If you had been beaten, tortured, and crucified, and were able to come back to life, wouldn’t you at least take a victory lap through the Roman courtyard? In any case, people need their symbols because it gives them hope. I don’t find anything wrong with that except when you become so insistent that other people believe as you do or else they are bad people.
So as I’m starting to feel myself fading back into Lala land, I’ll share with you a couple of my latest photos. I hope you like them.

Hi everybody. It’s been a while since I’ve posted a blog of substance. A lot is going on. Currently I’m on vacation, so I have a little more time to devote to my personal endeavors. The first and foremost being my music. If you look, you will see that I have posted some new tracks recently. Please check them out and hit that like button if you feel so inclined. Seriously though, it’s the only way I know whether or not you are appreciating any of the work that I have done. Your feedback is vital to me because it helps to steer me creatively.
First, let me start off by saying happy holidays, if you are so inclined to celebrate during this time of year. I am an atheist, but I do want to share some positive vibes with you. This may come as a shock to some, but it is something that I have felt for a long time. I know this is offensive or disappointing to some of my family and friends, but I’ve come to this understanding on my own and I’m comfortable with my decision. I hope it doesn’t become a wall between us. It is actually through my lifelong curiosity about religious practices that I have come to this point of understanding. This is the first time that I publicly stated my position. I am doing this is because I want total clarity and honesty between myself and anyone that I interact with. So consider this, for lack of a better phrase, a coming-out party.
A few things have happened to me recently that I wanted to share with you. One of which has to do with the reason I am posting this blog. I have a writer, Ksenia Anske (@kseniaanske), that I follow on Twitter. She is a prolific and enthusiastic tweeter. One day I decided to read her blog. It was one of the best things I’ve done for myself recently. In her blog she discusses the creative process, writing motivation and things of that nature, but what makes it special is the enthusiasm that comes across when you read it. I was inspired by it and it reenergized my drive to express myself. I had come to a place mentally where I had lost interest in posting because I didn’t feel the effort to maintain it was being justified due to the small amount of people that read it. I lost focus on the reason why I posted in the first place. It isn’t about how many people read it, it is about self expression. So I was reenergized as I mentioned before and I am very grateful for that experience. I suggest that you take the time and visit her blog yourself and hopefully you will get something positive out of it as I did. To be honest, what drew me to her was the fact that she resembles my ex-girlfriend. That may be due to the fact that they share a common ancestry, my ex was part Russian and she’s Russian. Hmmm..Come to think of it, they also share that quirky enthusiasm about reading and writing…but let me not drift off of my point, that being, it is profoundly important to give yourself a vehicle for creative expression and to stick with it!
Another one of my followers posted a link to this documentary that she was rather impressed with stating that people are blind that they really need to check out this film. Out of curiosity I asked what was the subject matter? Turns out she was referring to “Zeitgeist”, a documentary that was done in 07 regarding religion, 9/11 and conspiracy theories related to the 9/11 incident. (There are, to my understanding, addendum’s to this original documentary online as well.)
The first section of the documentary deals with the greatest story ever told, also known as the story of Jesus Christ. It goes to show the connections between the writings in the Bible and earlier myths in other cultures. This is something that I was exposed to as a child. I wondered why there were so many similarities between a lot of the things that I had read in Greek and Egyptian mythology and the Christian faith. If one is honest and looks at this with an open mind they will see the connection. This confirmed a lot of the things that I had known already but filled in some of the gaps that I had in my understanding. That was very refreshing.
Getting to the section on the 911 incident. There are some serious questions that need to be answered regarding what happened there. I worked in the Wall Street area for 13 years. I actually saw them building the world trade center. I am not by any stretch of the imagination an engineer but there are certain things that I know, based on the laws of physics, that completely discredit the official explanation of what happened. If you review the footage and the statements of people that were there that day, you will come to the same conclusion that something is not right. Let’s start with building seven. That building was not hit by the plane. It did have fire on two floors but was not touched by either plane. That building collapsed as if it were being destroyed as part of a controlled demolition. The same with both towers. I ask this question, how is that possible? How is it possible that a building that was built to withstand a collision with an airplane, collapsed in a controlled fashion where there was nothing but dust? Just ask yourself, when have you seen an airplane crash into a building and reduce it to powder? I went to the site a couple of days after the incident occurred. There was still stuff smoldering in that pile. Why was that? All I ask you to do is to look at that section of the video with an open mind and try to eliminate the questions that have been asked. You won’t be able to do it because we have been lied to. I will be the first to admit that I was highly skeptical when I heard that people were suggesting that there was some sort of conspiracy involved with respect to 9/11. Conspiracies tend to emerge after major incidents but that does not mean we should completely dismiss them. It is the first mission of the conspirator to marginalize the people that have uncovered their deception. Just remember this one simple rule: if things don’t add up something is missing.

Catching up

It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything of substance.  I’m on the second week of my two week vacation.  It takes at least seven days two relax for me.  So the first week I spent practically doing much of nothing.  I did my lawn, which by the way needs to be done again, and I attempted to clean my house.  I have a few things that I want to do this coming week, but I’m going to play it by ear.  The key to a vacation is to relax.  Most people, including myself at one time, plan vacations and have all of these activities that they want to accomplish.  There’s nothing wrong with that except you don’t get the rest that you should if you’re always worried about an itinerary.  That stress will counteract any relaxation that you have in mind.  My job is extremely stressful. The people that work with are challenging to say the least and I have a lot going on in my personal life that is fucking with my mind.  So I have one objective, unwind.

Christian Mingle Swindle

I thought that I would take the opportunity to discuss random things that have been going through my head over the past few days. I was just watching this commercial on television for the website Christian Mingle.  What a con.  I feel this way for two reasons, the exploitation of people using a web site to make money on their loneliness, and the façade of some spiritual connection.  I have always been one to challenge religious beliefs and customs. A lot of it doesn’t make sense.  Why are there so many religions?  How could they all be right?  Why would a god that wanted people to believe in him be so elusive?  Why is there evil in the world?  Why do bad things happen to good people?  Why don’t I see in the types of things that occurred in the bible today?  Why can’t anyone prove any of the stuff that is described in the bible?  It would seem to me logically if I were a supreme being and I wanted people to worship me, I would show myself and make it known that I was in control. Even more so, why wouldn’t I just make people behave and save myself some grief?  These are questions that most of us have asked at one time or another but only some will openly admit it.  To me it’s logical to ask those questions.   I have come to a conclusion that religion is a man manufactured form of control.  So putting that on the side let’s look at the larger question,  whether or not there is a supreme being.  When you look at the universe in its complexity and vastness, it’s hard to imagine that the Supreme Being would create all of that for the purpose of putting us here. It would be the equivalent of creating the entire solar system to support an atom.  We are insignificant. It is our own arrogance that places us in a position of relevance. This view is the core of most religious beliefs.  The bible states that god created man in his image.  I believe the reverse is true.  We created the idea of god to fill the need to have an explanation for a universe that we do not understand.  When you look at the amount of knowledge that was available at the time when these scriptures were written, you understand that these people didn’t know much of anything.  Imagine being in a position of religious authority and having the responsibility of explaining the creation of everything. That is a heavy burden.  So they took a little poetic license and came up with what they thought was a bullet proof plan, tell everyone that these ideas are from the creator himself and to question them will lead to horrible things. In essence, use fear and ignorance as a form of control. It was a beautiful plan because it still works after all this time.  So let’s put that on the side.  Does that mean that there is no conscious entity in control of things? That would depend on an understanding of consciousness. Our brains only process a small amount of the information that is part of our environment. The constructs of our thoughts are based on sensory input that is subjective. We are only aware of a small fraction of what is happening at any given moment so our understanding of reality is incomplete.  Here typically one would insert the idea that this proves there is a god and he or she is completely unknowable. Nice try but It doesn’t PROVE anything except the fact that there is more to learn.  I could go on further and further into this discussion but that’s essentially the gist of my point.  I don’t say these things to be insulting, rather as a summation of the facts as I understand them.  I put this disclaimer here because a lot of people have an emotional response when it comes to discussing religion so I tend to stay away from this conversation.  When emotions are involved, logic can go right out of the window.

I completely drifted off of the reason why I was disturbed by this advertisement for that web site.  The point is that religion is used as a tool to manipulate people.  This web site is all about getting your money.  The irony of the whole thing is that it is using a religious pretext with tools developed by science to get that money from you.  Part of the add even states that they are finding god’s match for you.  If god wanted you to meet someone, why would you need a web site?  Wouldn’t it just happen?  This segues into another pet peeve of mine, why does a church need money?  If the church is an instrument of the creator then one would think that it should be self-sustaining.  Why would they need a man-made creation, money, to survive? They need money because it’s all a scam.  It is a ruse to separate you from your money. They convince you that you’re doing something good and responsible, when all you are actually doing is lining someone else’s pocket.  It kind of reminds me of a line from the Star Trek movie. “The Undiscovered Country”, where Captain Kirk asked the creature that claimed to be the creator, “why does god need a space ship?”

It’s a rap-ture

The end of the world came and went. I was actually looking forward to some action. Maybe watch it on CNN. I’m sure they had a theme song picked out already..some cool rapture graphics. Do an in-depth analysis on the apocalypse..have a survey on whether people thought they should be spared..get an on the scene reporter to interview the four horsemen. Like most people I scoffed at the idea, but in the back of my mind I wondered, what if?..

You know that whole concept of what a person would do if the world was coming to an end is bullshit. First of all, you’re probably not gonna see it coming. If you do, say, asteroid or whatever. Most people will be at home shitting themselves. The whole myth of having that last sex is insane. If a guy can get erect knowing the apocalypse is at hand, he needs counseling.

Hopefully this will be the last time people listen to that crap. No matter what you believe, it’s not going to change reality. They are called the laws of physics because, it’s the fucking LAW. PROVEN, FACT..get over it.  People do not fly. The dead are dead, graves will not open..none of that is ever going to happen. Zombies are a myth..One day the earth will be destroyed and it won’t have anything to do with naughty or nice. It will be fucking over, for everyone. If we don’t get blasted by an asteroid, fried by a gamma ray burst, one day the sun will vaporize the entire planet. Just think about the story for a sec..the four horsemen..four..are going to cover the ENTIRE planet slaughtering the unjust. Have you checked how many Chinese there are alone? I think it would take 4 guys about 20 years of non-stop head lopping to pull that off.  And how do you get a horse up an elevator?

Unplanned parenthood

I’m a big science fan. I guess it comes from a low tolerance for bs and focusing on things you can Anyway, my favorite topics are astronomy and physics, which when you really think about it, are really the same thing. The laws of physics governs the universe, well, what we know about it. It’s an evolving story and that is part of it’s fascination. Then there’s the question of God. I think that the creator, being the power that created everything, is much bigger and deeper than the concept that we are taught in our various religions. To believe that the entire universe, which I believe isn’t all there is, was created just for our dumb asses is pompous arrogance. That would make God very inefficient when you consider how huge the visible universe is. Our entire galaxy is to the universe as an ass hair is to the entire human population. Doesn’t make sense to me to proclaim ourselves as God’s intention when there’s so much else going on. Think..light travels at roughly 6 trillion miles a year. The visible universe is fucking 14 billion times that. That’s a lot of real estate just to create a bunch of bald monkeys. We are just here by chance, nothing more. When you really understand reality, then you will realize that there are much more wondrous things than just you or I. So my point is, relax and enjoy this thing called life, we are part of the tapestry, not the reason it exists.
